In 2010 High Violet was released on 4AD and has sold 300,000 copies in the US. Both individually and collectively The National's members have been involved in countless artistic, charitable and socio-political pursuits.
Post Malone
Post Malone
Austin Richard Post (born July 4, 1995), known professionally as Post Malone, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and guitarist. He first gained major recognition in February 2015, after the release of his debut single "White Iverson". In August 2015, Malone landed a record deal with Republic Records. On December 9, 2016, he released his debut studio album Stoney.

Malone was born in Syracuse, New York. When he was 9 years old, he and his family moved to Grapevine, Texas. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching sports. His father was the Dallas Cowboys' assistant director of food and beverage, so Malone was able to get free food and tickets to their games. Malone began to play the guitar and auditioned for the band Crown the Empire in 2010, but was rejected after his guitar strings broke during the audition. He credited his initial interest in learning guitar to the popular video game Guitar Hero.

Malone first began learning how to produce music through FL Studio. When he was 16 years old, he started working on his first mixtape. He showed it to some of his classmates at Grapevine High School, garnering him notoriety at the school. He credited his love for music to his father, who exposed him to music making for all genres, including country music. He enrolled in Syracuse University, attending for only a few months.

Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand are a band formed in Glasgow in 2002. The name of the band was originally inspired by a racehorse called Archduke Ferdinand. After seeing the horse win the Northumberland Plate in 2001, the band began to discuss Archduke Franz Ferdinand and thought it would be a good band name because of the alliteration of the name and the implications of the Archduke's death (his assassination was a significant factor in the lead up to World War I).
